I think that it is cool that scientists figured out that all of the continents were connected at one time into a mega continent, # super awesome

    1. I found it interesting how people thought that hell itself was in the center of the Earth. I saw that islands were formed because the the tectonic plates moved away form each other and the molten came through into the water making the molten rock and the mountain grows untill it reachs the surface.
Although the Core is very hot and is made up of nickel and iron it does not melt because because of all the preasure applied to it. Because the Outer Core has less preasure it is liquid. The Mantel is 3,000 Kilometers thick. Last the Crust, the Crust is cracked and the areas where is is cracked are called tictonic plates.

The most interesting part about the video was that the tectonic plates move sooo slowly that it takes them a year to move even a centimeter. I didn't know that earthquakes could do that much damage, to take an entire city, that's a lot. I liked when it explained how mountains formed over years and years just to get were they are now, and they're still growing in size. I have no questions for this video. This is some fascinating stuff

  3. This video talks about tectonic plates which are like massive puzzle pieces to the Earth that move around at extremely slow speeds. It talks about how islands are formed from magma seeping through the Earth's crust through the ocean and up onto the surface creating and island from the now solidified lava. It also talked about how volcanoes are formed from continental plates colliding with the oceanic plates, lifting the lava and rock until it forms a massive mountain. But sometimes, the plates don't slide together so easily, this can form lots of friction and eventually, the friction gives way and the plates slides down with a jolt, sending shock waves that can form earthquakes. This was an amazing video on what the Earth does under its crust, so slowly that you don't notice until it creates something catastrophic.

  4. I found it interesting that the earths core is made of iron and nickle, and how the earths cores pressure is so high that the lava in the core never melts. the convection currents were a nice thing to learn about and how some move towards each other, some move away, and other move with each other. the volcano's lava gets pushed up and out of the volcano and when the lava gets to the service it turns in to a hot crumbly rock. I did not know that when water mixes with ash it can cause a heavy mud flow.

  5. This video is about the composition of the Earthiewerthie. They believe the core is made of iron and nickel (Fe and Ni on The Periodic Table of Elements). The outer core is thought to be made up of very dense iron. The next layer is the mantle, which is made up of semi-solid rock and is mostly silicates. The crust is the outermost layer of the Earthiewerthie, It consists of oceans and continents. The mantle is important to plate tectonics because it allows the plates on the crust to move around. When tectonic plates move apart they let lava leak through from the mantle and it creates islands that usually take 4-7 years to be habitable. When the plates smash together it usually creates mountain ranges just like the Cascades our mountain range in the Pacific Northwest. We are on a tectonic plate called the Ring of Fire, which is goes completely around the Pacific Ocean and creates some of the newest mountain ranges on Earthiewerthie. I do take this subject seriously I just like to make up words..

The earth is a complex thing,Its made up of several different layers and has different layers,The mantle, the inner core, the outer core, and the center. There was apoint in history were the plates of the arth caused a volcano irreptution that lasted 4 years. After 1-2 months plants started growing again and birds came back. Sometimes the plates of the earth doesnt move correctly and causes a jolt that causes earthquakes.

  7. I think the man idea of this is how the earths crust/outer layer can cause so much damage. It can cause earth quakes and volcanic eruptions. Also when all the ash from volcanic eruptions gets rained on it stars huge mud slides causing lots of damage. The earths crust also makes islands by two pieces of the earths crust pushing lava up making a island.

  8. I always wondered what causes natural disasters... What an interesting video! It definitely makes you realize how insignificant we are to the planet, not to mention the universe! I also think it is so awesome that scientists can accurately depict the earths layers, and how the layer we mostly see is barely even anything compared to the entire planet! I am going to guess we will be learning about this sort of thing next unit... :)

  9. The earth has many layers. The very center of earth is called the core. The core is made up of solid nickel and iron. It is also over 3,000 degrees Celsius. Around that layer is molten liquid. Once you're through that layer, you get to the mantle. The mantle is very hot rock. There is also the crust which is the thinnest layer. Sometimes the crust or plate tectonics will split and molten rock will spew out. If this process happens underwater, it can sometimes make a whole new island. Often, plants will start to grow and birds will use it as a home. If the explosion happens on the dry land, it can cause catastrophic damage. The lava would most likely come out of a volcano of some sort. Many people have lost their lives from these eruptions. Techtonics is an awesome, but deadly force.

  11. The earth has over five tectonic plates. These plates can shift in various directions and cause massive amounts of damage. Tectonic plates not only destroy land but also create land. While volcanos are melting the land the plates are slowly releasing small amounts of magna which turns into lava, creating a small island.

  12. The Earth is made up of very many segments. The main idea of this video is about how many natural disasters happen such as earth quakes and volcanic eruptions. Molten magna from below the earths surface, pushes up into the mantle (the part of the Earth between the core and the crust.) Once the magna reaches the Earth's surface it changes into a hot crumbly crust also known as lava. If this happens under water new islands can be created.
