Plants make sugar out of solar energy, but they are trying to use plants and solar energy to make fuel. They have a plant with platinum catalyst particles and instead of making electricity, they will turn it into hydrogen, a gas that has storage potential. Scientists would like to make a way to create solar energy because it leaves out a lot less carbon dioxide and because the sun is a sustainable source of energy (as it will outlast humans). JJP
