  1. why does water not bern since it has more hydrogen that oxygen.

  2. This video was confusing. I did not understand the steps. I understood them in class. Mr. Ross did a lot better job of explaining these steps then this guy did. He needed to speak clearly. A.P.H.

  3. very hard to understand. I couldn't figure out what this guy was explaining.

  4. How would electrolysis help us if we had a career? Is it important to memorize the formula? Also, what is acidulated water?

  5. What is acidulated water? what does the formula mean? Please explain more about the formula in class.

  6. if the pressure from the oxygen and hydrogen continuously build up could the glass tube shatter?
and what is the tube in the middle doing?

  7. This video was helpful in clarifying the experiment produced in class. Acidulated water is the electro light taken from the water. Anode and cathode are made of platinum, anode is positive and cathode is negative. The anode is connected to the positive terminal of the battery, and the cathode to the negative. On the passage of electric current, water dissociates into hydrogen ions.
From the cathodes, is where the positive ions are charged. They are discharged as hydrogen atoms that form hydrogen molecules.
At the anode, the negatively charged hydroxolions are discharged and form water and oxygen gas.
The amount of hydrogen collected, is double the amount of oxygen.

  8. this video helped me understand the process and how to set up the experiment.
I learned that the cathode is negative and the anode is positive. in the video it explained that twice as much hydrogen was being collected than the oxygen.it is because the formula for water is H2O so two hydrogen and only one oxygen.
the cathode and anode are both made out of platinum (in this video).
I wonder is there will come a time in our generation that all cars can have these devices so we no longer need gas.
I am wondering when that will happen? I am also wondering that maybe we could use hydrogen for many other things.

  9. The video was a bit confusing, but what I understood is that the experiment is like a porter. He said it was called the Hoffman's Voltmeter. You observe the water meter acid. Anide and cathode are made of platinum. The current happens because annode which is positivly chared, and cathode which is negativley charged, are connected to the batterey. Since cathode is nevagtive, it becomes positive because of the water. Because of all this, hydrogen is made.

  10. if there is double the hydrogen then oxygen then why dose water not burn. it fire needs oxygen to burn and hydrogen is able to light on fire then why cant you burn water why do you need to separate it
